The Mighty Harmonica: Blowing the Wind Chops!TB Saturday April 13, 3:00pm to 3:50pm, High School Rm. 176 [show on grid]
If you can breathe, you can play rhythm harmonica! This is a fast, easy and really satisfying way to begin to blow the harmonica- learning to play what are called the wind chops or rhythmic vamps, either in solo mode (classic train riff?) or in playing backup for dance tunes or folk music! We will explore basic technique to get a full sound, and then together blow the rhythms for reels, jigs, polkas, waltzes, folk, and Bo Diddley beats... and whatever other rhythms may come up. All you have to do is show up with a G major diatonic harmonica (no other keys accepted!)... and no prior experience is necessary! All you have to do is show up with a G major diatonic harmonica (no other keys accepted!)... and no prior experience is necessary!
